In judo, the winner of a match is determined by several methods: achieving an ippon (full point) through a perfect throw, pin, or submission holds; earning a waza-ari (half point) for less decisive techniques; or having the most points when time expires. A match can also conclude if an opponent receives too many penalties. Additionally, if a fighter is incapacitated or unable to continue, the other competitor may be declared the winner.
