The process by which DNA is copied to create RNA is known as transcription. During transcription, an enzyme called RNA polymerase binds to the DNA at a specific region called the promoter. It then synthesizes a single-stranded RNA molecule by following the DNA template, where the genetic code is transcribed. This RNA can be messenger RNA (mRNA), transfer RNA (tRNA), or ribosomal RNA (rRNA), all of which play pivotal roles in synthesizing proteins during the process of translation.
