Organisms that live in symbiosis and benefit one another are called mutualists. In a mutualistic relationship, both species gain advantages, such as nutrition or protection. Examples include pollinators and flowering plants, where pollinators obtain food while helping plants reproduce, and certain fungi and plant roots in mycorrhizal associations.
