The first country to experience a successful Bolshevik Revolution was Russia in 1917. This revolution, also known as the October Revolution, was characterized by the overthrow of the Provisional Government, which had been established after the February Revolution earlier that year. Led by Vladimir Lenin and the Bolshevik Party, the movement aimed to create a socialist state based on Marxist principles. The revolution resulted in the establishment of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic and initiated a civil war that would ultimately lead to the establishment of the Soviet Union, profoundly influencing global politics for much of the 20th century.
