The famous fleet known for its circumnavigating journey led by Ferdinand Magellan was the Victoria. This expedition, which began in 1519, was the first to successfully sail around the globe, providing critical insights into global navigation and the vastness of the world. Although Magellan himself was killed in the Philippines, one of the ships, Victoria, completed the journey and returned to Spain in 1522. This monumental achievement expanded European knowledge of geography and proved the feasibility of global maritime trade routes.
