The world's highest waterfall, known as Angel Falls, is located in Venezuela. It drops from a height of 979 meters (3,212 feet), with a continuous fall of 807 meters (2,648 feet). Angel Falls is situated in the Gran Sabana region of the country, within the Canaima National Park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The waterfall was named after Jimmy Angel, an American bush pilot, who was the first to fly over it in 1933.
