The Amazon rainforest is located in South America. It is the largest tropical rainforest in the world, spanning across several countries, primarily Brazil, but also parts of Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. The Amazon is renowned for its incredible biodiversity and is home to an estimated 390 billion individual trees and a wide variety of species, many of which are not found anywhere else on the planet. Additionally, this rainforest plays a crucial role in regulating the Earth's climate and is often referred to as the "lungs of the Earth" due to its vast capacity for carbon absorption.
