The Great Pyramid of Giza is located in Giza, Egypt, on the outskirts of Cairo. Built during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom, around 2580–2560 BC, it is one of the most iconic ancient structures in the world and the only remaining Wonder of the Ancient World. The pyramid was constructed as a tomb for the Pharaoh Khufu (Cheops) and originally stood at approximately 146.6 meters (481 feet). Its construction reflects the sophistication of ancient Egyptian engineering and is surrounded by other pyramids, temples, and the Sphinx.
