A Komodo dragon is a type of large lizard and is the largest living species of lizard in the world. Native to the Indonesian islands of Komodo, Rinca, Flores, and Gili Motang, these reptiles can grow up to 10 feet in length and weigh over 150 pounds. They are carnivorous, primarily preying on deer, birds, and smaller mammals, and are known for their powerful bite and venomous saliva, which helps subdue prey. Komodo dragons are also proficient swimmers and have keen eyesight.
