Bees use a process called foraging to collect nectar from flowers, which is then transformed into honey through a combination of enzymatic activity and evaporation. When bees visit flowers for nectar, they gather it in their honey stomachs and return to the hive, where they regurgitate the nectar. Inside the hive, worker bees pass the nectar from one bee to another, during which enzymes break down the sucrose in nectar into simpler sugars. The bees then spread the liquid nectar across the honeycomb cells, allowing moisture to evaporate, resulting in the thick, sweet substance known as honey.
