The tallest tree species in the world is the coast redwood (Sequoia sempervirens). These majestic trees are native to the coastal regions of northern California and southern Oregon. Some individuals can reach heights of over 379 feet (115 meters), with the tallest known coast redwood, named Hyperion, discovered in 2006.
