As of 2023, the tallest statue in the world is the Statue of Unity, located in the Indian state of Gujarat. Standing at a height of 182 meters (597 feet) excluding its base, it honors Vallabhbhai Patel, a key figure in India’s freedom movement and the country’s first Deputy Prime Minister. Inaugurated on October 31, 2018, the statue was designed by Indian sculptor Ram V. Sutar and is crafted from bronze and iron. The monument has not only become a tourist attraction but also symbolizes national unity and pride, representing Patel's efforts in integrating more than 500 princely states into modern India.
