The largest species of cat in the wild is the Siberian tiger (Panthera tigris altaica). Found primarily in the forests of eastern Russia and parts of China, these majestic tigers can weigh up to 600 pounds and measure up to 12 feet in length, including their tail. Siberian tigers have thick fur that helps insulate them in cold climates and distinctive orange and black stripes that provide camouflage in their natural habitat.
